Welcome to the Meiji Yasuda Life Foundation of Health and Welfare website

Public Interest Corporation: The Meiji Yasuda Life Foundation of Health and Welfare was founded in June 1962 in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Meiji Life Insurance Company (currently known as Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company). The mission of the establishment was “to improve health status and to contribute to the social welfare of Japan.” To achieve this mission, it started with the following two institutes: (1) the Physical Fitness Research Institute focusing on research for preventive medicine and physical fitness and sports medicine, and (2) the Healthcare Consulting Institute engaging in healthcare consultation, physical examinations, and promotion of public awareness on health.

Currently, our foundation is composed of the following institute and offices: (1) the Physical Fitness Research Institute, (2) the Wellness Development Office that develops and implements health promotion programs for the people in community and work site, (3) the Office of Research Grants for young researchers in health promotion area.
